CWP’S Solarina Project Secures 105 MW in Serbia's Latest Renewable Energy Auctions

CWP Europe has been awarded a contract for difference for 105 MW of its Solarina solar project in Serbia's latest renewable energy auction, organized by the Government of Serbia and the Ministry of Mining and Energy. This achievement further strengthens CWP Europe’s role in supporting the country's energy transition, delivering affordable and clean electricity to the market.

Maja Turković, Executive Vice President of CWP Europe, highlighted the importance of this achievement:

"We are thrilled to announce that our solar project Solarina has been awarded in this competitive auction. Solarina represents a key milestone in the expansion of the country’s renewable energy capacity, delivering clean and stable electricity at a competitive price of 52.89 EUR/MWh, reinforcing our commitment to making renewable energy more accessible and affordable for the citizens of Serbia. We extend our gratitudeto the Serbian government for entrusting us with the responsibility of delivering low-cost green electricity."

Once completed, Solarina will be the first utility-scale solar power plant in Serbia, with an installed capacity of 150 MW. This project will provide a significant boost to the country's solar energy sector, which currently stands at around 130 MW. By adding 150 MW, Solarina will more than double Serbia’s existing solar capacity, marking an important step toward the national goal of integrating 1.73 GW of solar power by 2030.

This latest success builds on CWP Europe’s previous achievement in Serbia’s inaugural renewable electricity auctions, where it secured a contract for difference for 210 MW for the Vetrozelena windfarm. With Solarina, CWP Europe continues to play a leading role in shaping the country’s renewable energy landscape, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner in Serbia’s transition to a sustainable future. This achievement is further strengthened by the fact that all the electricity generated —approximately 1 TWh annually — will remain within the borders of the Republic of Serbia, significantly contributing to the stability of energy supply for end-users.
